The Finance Division of Pakistan has announced changes to the Special Family Pension scheme based on the recommendations of the Pay and Pension Commission-2020.
Key updates include:
Extended Duration and Support:
Special Family Pension will now be available to eligible family members for 25 years following the death or ineligibility of the initial recipient. For disabled or special children, the pension will continue for their lifetime.
Increased Pension Rate:
The pension rate has been raised to 50% of the last drawn pension of the first recipient. This increase applies to all ranks of the Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces, with no minimum or maximum limits, and is transferable to all eligible heirs as specified in the Pension Regulations.
