What is the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Scheme?

This is a welfare-based housing project initiated by the Punjab Government to support homeless and financially struggling individuals by providing low-cost or even free housing.

Key Features:

✅ Target of over 100,000 houses
✅ 25,000 homes already approved in Phase 1
✅ Construction on government-owned land in cities like Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, D.G. Khan, and more
✅ Homes equipped with water, solar panels, and modern sewerage

What’s New in Phase 2?

Phase 2 comes with several important updates:

✅ Coverage expanded to over 12 districts, both rural and urban
✅ Online portal integrated with NADRA verification
✅ Housing Needs Assessment Survey initiated
✅ All homes will be solar-powered
✅ Special quota for women and widows

These updates are designed to reach more deserving citizens efficiently.

Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?

If you fulfil the following requirements, you may apply:

✅ Must be a resident of Punjab (valid CNIC required)
✅ Income should not exceed Rs. 50,000 per month.
✅ Neither applicant nor spouse should own any property
✅ Widows, orphans, and disabled individuals get preference
✅ Renters are eligible to apply
✅ Participation in the Housing Needs Survey is mandatory

Documents Required for Application:

Have the following documents ready:

• CNIC of applicant and spouse

• Income certificate or salary slip

• Utility bill or rent agreement

• Disability certificate (if applicable)

• Death certificate (for widows)

• Affidavit stating the applicant owns no house or land

📌 If documents are missing, visit the nearest NADRA office to obtain them.

How to Apply – Offline Registration Process

• Visit your nearest Union Council or Assistant Commissioner’s office

• Collect the registration form

• Attach photocopies of required documents

• Submit the form to the housing officer

• A government survey team will visit your residence for verification

Survey & Verification Process:

After applying:

• A team from Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) will visit

• They’ll verify if you are genuinely homeless

• Number of dependents will be noted

• Data will be cross-checked with NADRA

• Widows and disabled applicants will be prioritized

Sialkot: Pasrur, Daska
Multan: Shujabad, Jalalpur Pirwala
D.G. Khan: Taunsa, Kot Chutta
Rajanpur: Rojhan, Jampur
Bahawalpur: Hasilpur, Yazman
Faisalabad: Samundri, Jaranwala
Rahim Yar Khan: Khanpur, Liaquatpur
Muzaffargarh: Alipur, Kot Addu
Mianwali: Isakhel, Piplan
Okara: Renala Khurd, Depalpur
Bhakkar: Darya Khan, Kalur Kot

📌 Final district list and balloting schedule will be published on the official portal.

Selection & Balloting Process:

• All verified applications will be entered into a central database

• A transparent digital balloting system will be used (monitored by PHATA and auditors)

• Selected applicants will get SMS notifications

• Successful applicants will be called to sign ownership documents

• Houses will be handed over phase-wise

🎯 Government aims to hand over 25,000 houses by the end of 2025, with an additional 50,000 beneficiaries covered in Phase 2.
