Director – Medical & Sports Sciences

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), dedicated to the promotion and regulation of cricket in Pakistan, invites applications for the position of Director Medical & Sports Sciences.

This senior role is vital in managing clinical operations, guiding research, and delivering sports science services for national and regional cricket teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the medical care, fitness, and rehabilitation of elite athletes, while driving awareness, performance enhancement, and injury prevention programs.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Medical/Physiotherapy Degree with MSc/Diploma in Sports Sciences/Sports Medicine.

• Minimum 10 years of experience working with elite athletes/teams with a proven record.

• Experience with national/international athletes preferred.

• Strong background in medical leadership and sport science strategy.

• Additional certifications in doping control, musculoskeletal ultrasound, physical training, injury management, etc., are preferred.

• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

• Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

• Sound understanding of cutting-edge sports medicine and research-based best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and manage player injuries; oversee rehab and fitness programs.

• Guide regional medical staff and supervise National Cricket Academy protocols.

• Promote nutrition, wellness, and preventive care among players.

• Maintain a comprehensive medical database of players.

• Coordinate with domestic/international medical institutions.

• Implement continuous training & development programs for PCB-affiliated staff.

• Drive strategic proposals to enhance PCB’s medical services.
